EDR AND SDR FITTING SYSTEMS
We are proud to carry high-quality EDR poly pipe fittings and SDR poly pipe fittings to accommodate your needs. For SDR systems, the tube and fittings are made in the same DR and have the same thickness. However, for the EDR system, the pieces are manufactured in a different DR. The wall is built thicker and the tips are rectified so that the thinner-DR tube can be hot-melted more efficiently. This, in turn, makes the body of the piece more pressure-resistant and better performing.
EDR parts are offered from 8 ", 10", 12" and 16" IPS, DR 7. Additionally, DR 5 parts are offered in 8", 10", 12", and 16" IPS, only in the SDR system.
HOW DO I FIGURE OUT MY FITTING SIZE?
Determining the proper fitting size is vital to ensure that it will fit your pipe and that it will do its intended job properly. Fittings for male pipes are determined by the measurement of the outside diameter (OD) of the pipe, while female pipe fittings are measured by their inside diameter (ID). This is useful information, but you still have some more work to do to determine the size pipe fitting you need. Pipe fittings are measured in nominal size rather than actual size. Therefore, you need a nominal conversion chart to determine the nominal size pipe fitting that you need.
